max moray (in the jewish hidden heroes series) (4 videos)

Max Moray was born in Breslow in East Germany in 1926. He grew up as the Nazis took control of Germany and at the age of thirteen he arrived home to find his parents had been taken by the Gestapo. Still a young boy, he escaped from Germany and eventually made it to England where he was taken in as a refugee. Refused entrance to the RAF on account of his nationality, Max signed up for the Polish Air Force and joined the legendary 303 Squadron.”

Max Moray (Goldwasser) has lied all his life, the book about him is a lie, Max never flew Spitfires during the war, he was ground crew a chocks away boy. That’s why he says he never wants to talk about the war because he was of the lowest rank in the Polish RAF, and he was never a pilot or an officer. Below is Max Moray’s RAF records. Max was only a Corporal for the 1 year he was in the Polish RAF 1944 to 1945.

I am interested to know, during your research, if you have discovered how my father actually came to the UK from Germany before the commencement of the Second World War? It does not appear to be via Kindertransport. My father’s backstory was always a mystery and my late mother was reluctant to even talk about it.
