The Labour Party is seriously struggling to close down its anti-semitism row. Yesterday’s video apology for anti-semitism from Jeremy Corbyn didn’t convince many of his critics. Today, the party dropped disciplinary proceedings against Margaret Hodge, but still managed a new row involving lawyers over whether she had apologised or expressed regret for her behaviour. Even loyal Corbyn supporters have to concede that the party leadership has failed to grab the problem and dispose of it successfully. The infighting on social media over the weekend was quite something. Is this whole argument a potential trigger for much bigger trouble in Labour?”
