Dorothy Bohm has been called the doyenne of British photography. She’s 94 now, she came to Britain as a teenager, just escaping the war. Her father, a wealthy Jewish industrialist in Lithuania, did not escape. He was captured by Soviet forces, he spent many years in Siberian prison camps. … She made her name through her unpaid work as a street photographer for 70 years, capturing moments in ordinary people’s lives as they went about their daily business.
A new exhibition of her photos of children opens this weekend at the Victoria and Albert Museum of Childhood in East London.”
