“For centuries, archaeologists have faced a common problem: how to piece together delicate artefacts without knowing for certain how they should look when complere. Now Israeli researchers have developed a computer program which can create a digital image from photos of hundreds of fragments. It analyses and matches the pieces using complex criteria, not just shape and colour.”
