BBC bias: The BBC presents Israel as its only example of state terrorism.
In a 58-minute programme on terrorism (in which there is no attempt to define or categorise it), Israel’s targeted kilings are presented, not as a response to terrorism, but as terrorism itself.
Palestinian attacks on Israel and Israeli “retaliation” are presented equally as terrorism.
yesterday evening (saturday 1st), 8.00-9.00pm, on bbc radio 4 (repeated this afternoon, 12.00-1.00pm, in the the documentary series, on bbc world service radio)
reporting terror: 50 years behind the headlines (in the archive on 4 series) (presented by peter taylor)
11 Israeli athletes died following an attack by Palestinians from a shadowy group known as Black September. In revenge, Israel’s intelligence agency, the Mossad, covertly assassinated those suspected of involvement in the attack.
General Aharon Yariv was the architect of the operation, as he admitted to me in a remarkably candid interview in 1993, the first time Israel confirmed its involvement.
… Since then, Palestinian attacks on Israel have continued, and Israel has continued to retaliate with targeted killings, a tactic more recently replicated in Western drone strikes against IS and Al Qaeda.”
